Terms of Service

1. Agreement

Lapė (“the app”) is provided by srauna (company code 308021501), established in Lithuania (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

2. What Lapė is

Lapė is a free map application that helps casual travellers discover interesting places — trails, viewpoints, historic sites, nature, and facilities — across the Baltic region. It is provided for informational and recreational purposes only.

We may add, change, or remove features, content, and supported regions at any time.

3. Not a navigation or safety tool — use responsibly

Lapė is not a navigation, emergency, or safety-critical tool. Do not rely on it where accuracy is essential.

  • Place data comes from open and community sources (including OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia) and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Trails, opening hours, facilities, and place details are not guaranteed.
  • Always use proper navigation, official signage, and your own judgement in the field. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
  • Respect the outdoors and other people: stay on permitted paths, do not trespass on private property, follow protected-area rules, and comply with all local laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for your own safety and conduct.

4. Third-party content, links, and services

The app displays and links to content and services provided by third parties, under their own licences and terms:

  • Map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
  • Articles & photos: from Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons, generally under Creative Commons BY-SA; individual authors are credited where shown.
  • AI descriptions, navigation, and feedback: handed off to Google, Apple Maps, Waze, and Featurebase when you choose them. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies; we are not responsible for them.

We don’t control third-party content and don’t warrant its accuracy or availability.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or its supporting servers and APIs;
  • scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute the app’s map tiles, data, or services outside of normal personal use of the app;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law.

6. Intellectual property

The Lapė and srauna names, logos, app design, icons, and original content are owned by srauna and protected by intellectual-property laws. Third-party map data and articles remain the property of their respective owners under the licences noted in section 4.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, srauna shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app, from reliance on its content, or from your activities undertaken in connection with it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

9. Price and availability

Lapė is currently free to use. We may introduce optional paid features in the future; if we do, they will be clearly described before you choose them. We don’t guarantee the app will always be available or supported.

10. Apple App Store

If you downloaded Lapė from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and srauna only, not Apple, and srauna — not Apple — is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or handle any claims relating to the app. Apple’s own Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app; where it conflicts with these Terms, the Apple terms prevail for App Store downloads. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version, and material changes will be highlighted. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Lithuanian courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
